Information We Collect
Out of Scope is hosted by Ghost.org. Ghost may collect certain anonymous data for the sole purposes of monitoring system performance.
Personal Information is personally-identifiable information such as your name, addresses, and/or payment information.
When you subscribe to the Out of Scope newsletter and blog, we DO save your email address which we use to send you updates, newsletters, and posts. Subscription emails are sent by Ghost.org which sends us data on whether emails have been opened.
We use Plausible for site statistics. Plausible is a privacy-friendly analytics package. We recommend them!
The Internet is, by its nature, inherently open and subject to interception of information. We can’t guarantee that the information you provide to us over the Internet won’t be intercepted by third-parties while it’s being communicated by means that are outside of our control.
Security measures such as the use of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology have been implemented to enhance the protection of your Personal Information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. SSL-enabled websites like our Site employ a security protocol to ensure that your Personal Information is only transferred between your device or computer and us, the intended recipient.
Other Legal Notes
We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
If you have any questions or concerns about our practices, please contact us by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll do our best to help you.
This policy is effective April 1, 2021.
This policy was revised August 28, 2021. We removed references to payments and surveys (because we don't do either). We added a paragraph about Plausible although it doesn't collect any personally identifiable information. (We just love them).
